Welcome to the April 2025 newsletter from Pravalli Welfare Trust! Celebrating 25 years of service, we continue to uplift Pakistan’s most vulnerable communities with your support. From empowering youth with technical skills to providing clean water and shelter, our programs are creating lasting change. Explore our latest updates and learn how you can contribute.
1. Technical Training
Empowering Youth
We’ve launched a program to train jobless youth in computer skills for work-from-home opportunities. Each 3-month course costs Rs. 45,000, covering tuition, accommodation, and food. Currently, 12 students are training, with 23 more starting on May 5, 2025. Courses include:
- Graphic Designing
- IT Office Assistant
- Spoken English with Gulf Security
- AutoCAD
- Web Development/Designing
- Video Editing
- Digital Marketing
- Freelancing
- Quantity Survey
- Amazon Virtual Assistance
- Impact: Equipping youth with marketable skills for sustainable livelihoods.
- Support Needed: Sponsor a student’s training for Rs. 45,000.
2. Water Supply Schemes
Quenching Thirst
Over 24 years, we’ve completed 3,601 water schemes across Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, and Punjab, including hand pumps and solar-powered systems. Costs vary by terrain, soil type, and scheme complexity.
- Impact: Provided clean water to thousands of households.

3. Trees Plantation
Greening Pakistan
In March 2025, we planted 1,300 fruit trees in KPK’s northern hilly areas. The next plantation season in July 2025 will target Balochistan, Sindh (including Thar Desert), and Punjab, following 17,200 trees planted in July/August 2024.
- Impact: Enhanced environmental sustainability in arid and hilly regions.

4. Adopt a Widow & Her Children
Direct Lifeline
Our program supports 132 widows with direct bank transfers (minimum Rs. 10,000) from donors. We provide family details for direct communication, ensuring transparency.

5. Education in Thar and Balochistan
Empowering Young Minds
Pravalli operates 27 schools offering free education: 18 in Thar Desert, 8 in Balochistan, and 1 in Rawalpindi. Each school costs Rs. 14,000/month (Rs. 168,000/year) for teacher salaries, with additional expenses covered by the Trust.
- Impact: Educating hundreds of children in underserved areas.

6. Monthly Help for the Vulnerable
Consistent Support
We aid 58 widows and destitute individuals with Rs. 5,000 monthly via EasyPaisa. Donors can directly sponsor a widow, with account details provided by Pravalli.
- Impact: Ongoing relief for 58 vulnerable individuals.

7. Houses for Homeless Poor Families
Providing Shelter
Launched three years ago, we’ve built 673 one-room houses for families, primarily widows (95%), surpassing our initial goal of 100. Forgotten Women UK donated 198 houses.
- Impact: Sheltered 673 families, transforming lives.

8. Ramzan Package for Widows and Poor
Supporting Families
This Ramzan, we reached 2,087 families across Skardu, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Sindh, and Thar Desert, providing Rs. 5,000 cash per family, mostly widows. Lady Fatima Trust aided 500 families, and RRAI-USA supported 400. We noted many families still live in tents and straw huts.
- Impact: Provided critical financial relief during Ramzan.

9. Agriculture with Solar Pumps in Thar
Sustainable Farming
This year, we completed 45 solar pump schemes in Thar Desert, totaling 386 schemes. Lady Fatima (a.s.) Trust UK (262 schemes) and Sumar Lakhani Foundation/RRAI (26 schemes) have been key partners.
- Impact: Enabled farming for 386 families in arid regions.

10. Medical Camps
Healing Lives
We hold three monthly medical camps—one in Sindh and two in KPK—serving poor areas. 61 camps have provided free medicines and consultations to patients.
- Impact: Delivered healthcare to hundreds in remote areas.

11. Ladies Training in Stitching and Computer Centers
Building Skills
Our vocational programs empower communities:
- 12 Sewing Centers: Training women in stitching.
- 3 Computer Centers: 104 trained in Hyderabad (8 ongoing), 26 in Lora, Abbottabad, and additional training in Havelian.
- Vocational Training: 97 in AC/fridge repairs, 53 electricians, 11 motorcycle mechanics, 39 in computers, 62 plumbers, and 40 auto electricians.
- Impact: Equipped 316+ individuals with employable skills.
- Support Needed: Fund training for more youth and women.
12. Masjid Construction
Spiritual Hubs
We’ve completed 26 masjids, with one under construction, providing communities with places of worship and unity.
- Impact: Strengthened community bonds through 26 masjids.
- Your Role: Sponsor ongoing construction projects.
13. Karobar
Economic Empowerment
We’ve supported 148 people to start small businesses, fostering self-reliance and local economic growth.
- Impact: Enabled 148 individuals to achieve financial independence.
- Support Needed: Fund more microfinance initiatives.
14. Solar Illumination of Poor Huts
Lighting Lives
We’ve illuminated 1,925 huts with solar electricity in Thar Desert areas, improving living conditions.
- Impact: Enhanced safety and quality of life for 1,925 households.

15. Wheelchairs
Mobility for All
We’ve provided 809 wheelchairs and tricycles to disabled and elderly individuals, enhancing mobility and independence.
- Impact: Improved quality of life for 809 individuals.

16. Sewing Machines
Empowering Women
Our 12 sewing centers train women in stitching, with 929 sewing machines distributed to poor women and widows for income generation.
- Impact: Enabled 929 women to earn a living through stitching.

17. Orphan/Poor Girls’ Marriages
Supporting New Beginnings
We’ve helped 949 poor and orphan girls marry with Rs. 20,000 financial aid per wedding, easing the burden on families.
- Impact: Supported 949 girls to start new lives with dignity.

18. Goats for Poor Families
Sustainable Livelihoods
We’ve distributed 3,397 goats to desert families, providing milk and income as goats multiply rapidly with free fodder in arid areas.

19. Toilets
Improving Sanitation
We’ve built 209 toilets for poor families in Sindh, enhancing hygiene and dignity.
